Launching an online marketing campaign requires juggling quite a few moving pieces. Business owners often get bogged down in the arduous tasks of these campaigns without realizing that they could actually be crippling their own success. Here is a look at three of the most common ways that many business owners may be damaging their efforts without even realizing it. 

1. Your Site Hasn't Been Audited
Before any time or money is invested into a marketing campaign, your website must be technically audited. Much like an energy audit within a home, this careful inspection of the website will uncover any problems that are taking place just below the surface. Without this kind of data, it will be nearly impossible to make any improvements.

2. Duplicate Content
Duplicate content is not only unappealing to traffic, but it will also mean that your website takes a hit in the results pages. If your pages have begun to blend together with identical information throughout, then it is time to start making some changes. All matching content must be deleted immediately or rewritten in order to avoid duplication penalties.

3. You Do Not Have a Shared Calendar
Every single person that is going to be involved in your online marketing must have access to a shared calendar. Failing to coordinate your efforts will result in wasted time and effort at best. Timelines should be thorough enough to cover at least the next few months, but flexible enough to adapt to any industry changesthat will need to be addressed.
